An Act to amend the Health Act 1956
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Health Amendment Act 1972, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Health Act 1956 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Communicable diseases occurring in animals
Section 87a of the principal Act (as inserted by section 6 of the Health Amendment Act 1964) is hereby amended by adding the following subsection:
“(6)
Notwithstanding anything in the preceding provisions of this section, or in any Order in Council made hereunder nothing in those provisions shall apply in respect of any animal found to be suffering from a communicable disease in the course of any campaign for the eradication of that disease conducted by or at the instance of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.”
3 Inspection fees
Section 117 of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting in paragraph (y) of subsection (1), after the words “registration or”
, the words “in respect of the inspection of premises expressly exempted from registration or in respect”
.
