An Act to amend the Life Insurance Act 1908
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Life Insurance Amendment Act 1972, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Life Insurance Act 1908 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Principal Act to be administered by Minister of Justice
(1)
The principal Act is hereby amended in the manner indicated in the Schedule to this Act.
(2)
Section 7 of the Life Insurance Amendment Act 1920 is hereby amended by omitting the definition of the term “Minister”
.
(3)
Section 8 of the Life Insurance Amendment Act 1920 is hereby amended by omitting the word “Minister”
, and substituting the words “Secretary for Justice”
.
(4)
Section 2 of the Life Insurance Amendment Act 1921—22 is hereby amended by omitting from subsection (2) the words “Minister of Finance”
, and substituting the words “Secretary for Justice”
.
3 Statements and abstracts to be examined by an actuary
The principal Act is hereby amended by repealing section 22, and substituting the following section:
“22
One of each of the printed copies of every statement or abstract so deposited shall be sent by the Secretary for Justice to an actuary, from time to time appointed by the Minister of Finance for the purpose; and the actuary shall make such report to the Minister of Justice on such statement or abstract as he thinks fit, and that Minister may publish every such report in the Gazette.”
