An Act to amend the Rates Rebate Act 1973

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:

1 Short Title and commencement

  • (1) This Act may be cited as the Rates Rebate Amendment Act 1994, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Rates Rebate Act 1973 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

    (2) This Act shall come into force on the 1st day of July 1994.

2 Interpretation

  • (1) 

    (2) Any application for a rates rebate in respect of rates for the rating year commencing on the 1st day of July 1993 or any earlier rating year shall be dealt with as if subsection (1) of this section and sections 3 and 4 of this Act had not been enacted.

    (3) Section 2(1) of the Rates Rebate Amendment Act 1974 is hereby consequentially repealed.
