An Act to define Her Majesty's royal style and titles in relation to New Zealand

  • Preamble

Whereas, in accordance with the Royal Titles Act 1953, Her Majesty, by Proclamation dated 28 May 1953, adopted as the royal style and titles to be used in relation to New Zealand and to all other territories for whose foreign relations Her Government in New Zealand is responsible the style and titles set forth in that Act:

And whereas it is desirable that the form of the royal style and titles to be used in relation to New Zealand and to those other territories be altered so as to reflect more clearly Her Majesty's position in relation to New Zealand and all those other territories:

And whereas the proposed new style and titles, being the style and titles set forth in section 2, retain the common element referred to in the Preamble of the Royal Titles Act 1953.
