An Act to amend the Meat Act 1964
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Meat Amendment Act 1974, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Meat Act 1964 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Metrication
(1)
Section 38(1) of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from the proviso the words “three miles”
, and substituting the words “5 kilometres”
.
(2)
Section 47(1)(b)(ii) of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting the words “six miles”
, and substituting the words “10 kilometres”
.
(3)
Section 76(2) of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting the words “fifty yards”
in both places where they occur, and substituting in each case the words “50 metres”
.
3 Grant and renewal of licences
(1)
Section 53(1)(b) of the principal Act (as amended by section 10 of the Meat Amendment Act 1968) is hereby amended by omitting the words “trade wastes, and the construction”
, and substituting the words “trade wastes, the construction”
.
(2)
Section 10 of the Meat Amendment Act 1968 is hereby consequentially repealed.
This Act is administered in the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.
