An Act to amend the Primary Products Marketing Act 1953
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Primary Products Marketing Amendment Act 1974, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Primary Products Marketing Act 1953 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Interpretation
(1)
Section 2 of the principal Act (as amended by section 2(1) of the Primary Products Marketing Amendment Act 1972) is hereby further amended by repealing the definition of the expression “primary product”
, and substituting the following definition:
“‘Primary product’ means any product derived from—
“(a)
Pig or poultry farming; or
“(b)
Bee keeping; or
“(c)
Citrus fruit farming; or
“(d)
Avocado fruit, Chinese gooseberry fruit, raspberry fruit, or tamarillo fruit growing; or
“(e)
Hop growing.”
(2)
The Primary Products Marketing Amendment Act 1972 is hereby consequentially repealed.
3 Regulations
Section 3 of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing paragraph (1) of subsection (2), and substituting the following paragraph:
“(1)
Providing for the imposition, payment and disposition of levies on primary products, and, in the case of bee keeping, on hives:”
This Act is administered in the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.
