An Act to amend the River Boards Act 1908

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the River Boards Amendment Act 1974, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the River Boards Act 1908 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Metric conversion

Section 77(2) of the principal Act is hereby amended—

(a)

By omitting the words “one mile”, and substituting the words “1.5 kilometres”:

By omitting the words “aforesaid mile”, and substituting the words “said distance”.

3 Payments by Board

Section 111(2) of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after the word “cheque”, the words “or other instrument (not being a promissory note or bill)”.
