An Act to amend the Fisheries Act 1908

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Fisheries Amendment Act 1974, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Fisheries Act 1908 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Metrication

The principal Act is hereby amended in the manner indicated in the Schedule to this Act.

Section 2

Section of Principal Act Amended Amendment
2(1) By omitting from the definition of the expression “oyster brood” the words “five inches”, and substituting the words “12 centimetres”.
64(3)(a) By omitting the words “ten acres”, and substituting the words “4 hectares”, and by omitting the words “one hundred feet”, and substituting the words “30 metres”.
65(1) By omitting the words “twenty acres”, and substituting the words “8 hectares”.
91(1) By omitting the words “twenty acres”, and substituting the words “8 hectares”.

This Act is administered in the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.
