An Act to amend the Administration Act 1969
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Administration Amendment Act 1975, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Administration Act 1969 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Payment and devolution without administration
The principal Act is hereby amended by omitting the expression “one thousand dollars”
in each place where it occurs in sections 64 and 65, and substituting in each case the expression “$2,000”
.
3 Increasing share of surviving wife or husband on intestacy
(1)
The principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from section 77(1)(a), and also section 79(2), the words “twelve thousand dollars”
, and substituting, in each case, the expression “$25,000”
.
(2)
The amendments effected by subsection (1) of this section shall apply to the estates of all persons dying on or after the date of the passing of this Act, but shall not apply to the estates of persons dying before that date.
This Act is administered in the Department of Justice.
