An Act to amend the New Zealand Walkways Act 1975
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title and commencement
(1)
This Act may be cited as the New Zealand Walkways Amendment Act 1976, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the New Zealand Walkways Act 1975 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
(2)
Section 3 of this Act shall be deemed to have come into force on the 10th day of September 1975.
2 Walkways over private land
(1)
Section 22 of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after subsection (3), the following subsection:
“(3a)
A copy of every easement or lease acquired by the Crown under this section shall be lodged with the District Land Registrar who shall without fee register the easement or lease on every certificate of title, provisional register, or other registered instrument of title which is affected by the easement or lease.”
(2)
Section 22(5) of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after the word “obtained”
, the words “and registered”

3 Fees, travelling allowances, and expenses
Section 34 of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing subsection (2), and substituting the following subsections:
“(2)
There shall be paid to each appointed member of the Commission and of a committee of the Commission, from the Consolidated Revenue Account out of money appropriated by Parliament for that purpose to the services of Vote Lands and Survey, remuneration by way of fees or allowances, and travelling allowances and expenses, in accordance with the Fees and Travelling Allowances Act 1951, and the provisions of that Act shall apply accordingly.
“(3)
There shall be paid to each appointed member of a District Walkway Committee, from the Consolidated Revenue Account out of money appropriated by Parliament for that purpose to the services of Vote Lands and Survey, travelling allowances and expenses in accordance with the Fees and Travelling Allowances Act 1951, and the provisions of that Act shall apply accordingly.”
This Act is administered in the Department of Lands and Survey.
