An Act to amend the Valuation of Land Act 1951

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Valuation of Land Amendment Act 1976, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Valuation of Land Act 1951 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Alterations during currency of rolls

Section 12 of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing paragraph (d), and substituting the following paragraph:

“(d)

Any land being omitted from the roll or any particulars specified in section 8 of this Act in relation to any land on the roll being erroneously entered thereon:”.

3 Special rateable values of single and double unit dwellinghouses in areas where values influenced by demand for multi-unit housing

Section 25d of the principal Act (as inserted by section 5 of the Valuation of Land Amendment Act 1970) is hereby amended—

(a)

By inserting in subsection (1)(b) and also in sub section (1)(c), after the word “single-unit”, the words “or double-unit”:

By inserting in subsection (2)(a), after the word “single-unit”, the words “or double-unit”:

(c)

By inserting in subsection (5), after the word “single-unit”, the words “or double-unit”:

(d)

By inserting in subsection (7)(a), after the word “single-unit”, the words “or, as the case may be, double-unit”:

(e)

By inserting in subsection (7)(a)(i), after the words “single household”, the words “or, as the case may be, 2 households”:

(f)

By omitting from subsection (7)(b) the words “2 or more households”, and substituting the words “3 or more households”.

This Act is administered in the Valuation Department.
