An Act to amend the Construction Act 1959
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Construction Amendment Act 1977, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Construction Act 1959 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Notifiable construction work
Section 8 of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing subsection (2), and substituting the following subsection:
“(2)
Subject to subsection (6) of this section, an employer shall not commence any construction work which is a notifiable work or which will at any time include notifiable work unless he has first notified the Inspector of the nature of the construction work, the nature of the notifiable work, and the time when he intends to commence the construction work.”
3 Duties of workmen
Section 23 of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after the word “Act”
where it first occurs, the words “or under any regulations for the time being in force under this Act”
.
This Act is administered in the Department of Labour.
