An Act to amend the Valuation of Land Act 1951

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Valuation of Land Amendment Act 1978, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Valuation of Land Act 1951 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Special rateable values of “existing use” properties

(1)

Section 25e of the principal Act (as inserted by section 6 of the Valuation of Land Amendment Act 1970) is hereby amended by repealing paragraph (b) of subsection (1), and substituting the following paragraph:

“(b)

Is used for any purpose for which the owner or occupier is entitled to use the land pursuant to section 90 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1977; and”.

(2)

The said section 25e of the principal Act is hereby further amended by omitting from subsection (1)(c) the words “the purpose that is an existing use as aforesaid”, and substituting the words “that purpose”.

This Act is administered in the Valuation Department.
