An Act to amend the Wool Industry Act 1977

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Wool Industry Amendment Act 1978, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Wool Industry Act 1977 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Table of minimum prices

Section 32 of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing subsection (3), and substituting the following subsection:

“(3)

Except in circumstances that are in his opinion exceptional, the Minister shall not approve—

“(a)

Any basis of calculation resulting in a table of prices the average price derived from which, calculated in accordance with section 33 of this Act, is greater by more than 10 percent or less by more than 5 percent than the average price, so calculated, derived from the table of prices for the time being in force; or

“(b)

More than one basis of calculation during any period of 12 months ending with the 30th day of June.”

This Act is administered in the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.
