An Act to amend the Veterinary Services Act 1946
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Veterinary Services Amendment Act 1979, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Veterinary Services Act 1946 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Unauthorised expenditure
(1)
Section 27 of the principal Act (as amended by section 3 of the Veterinary Services Amendment Act 1954) is hereby amended by omitting the words “one hundred pounds”
, and substituting the expression “$1,000”
.
(2)
Section 3 of the Veterinary Services Amendment Act 1954 is hereby consequentially repealed.
(3)
The actions of the Veterinary Services Council in exceeding its unauthorised expenditure limit of $200—
(a)
By $316 in respect of the financial year ending with the 31st day of March 1978; and
(b)
By $614 in respect of the financial year ending with the 31st day of March 1979—
are hereby validated and deemed to have been lawful.
This Act is administered in the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.
