An Act to amend the Inferior Courts Procedure Act 1909
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title and commencement
(1)
This Act may be cited as the Inferior Courts Procedure Amendment Act 1979, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Inferior Courts Procedure Act 1909 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
(2)
This Act shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1980.
2 Meaning of “inferior Court”
(1)
Section 2 of the principal Act (as substituted by section 45 of the Small Claims Tribunals Act 1976) is hereby amended by repealing paragraph (a), and substituting the following paragraph:
“(a)
A District Court:”.
(2)
The said section 2 (as so substituted) is hereby further amended by omitting from paragraph (c) the word “Magistrate”
, and substituting the words “District Court Judge”
.
