An Act to amend the Dangerous Goods Act 1974
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title and commencement
(1)
This Act may be cited as the Dangerous Goods Amendment Act 1979, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Dangerous Goods Act 1974 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
(2)
This Act shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1980.
2 Restrictions on storage of dangerous goods
(1)
Section 15(1) of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from paragraph (a) the expression “2,500”
, and substituting the expression “10,000”
.
(2)
The said section 15(1) is hereby further amended by omitting from paragraph (d) the words “any storeship— ”
, and substituting the words “any storeship; or”
.
(3)
The said section 15(1) (as so amended) is hereby further amended by adding the following paragraph:
“(e)
Dangerous goods of Class 2 in any tank having a water capacity exceeding 12,000 litres—”.
(4)
Section 27(7) of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from paragraph (a) the expression “2,500”
, and substituting the expression “10,000”
.
(5)
The said section 27(7) is hereby further amended by omitting from paragraph (d) the words “any storeship— ”
, and substituting the words “any storeship; or”
.
(6)
The said section 27(7) (as so amended) is hereby further amended by adding the following paragraph:
“(e)
Dangerous goods of Class 2 in any tank having a water capacity exceeding 12,000 litres—”.
This Act is administered in the Department of Labour.
