An Act to amend the Earthquake and War Damage Act 1944
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Earthquake and War Damage Amendment Act 1979, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Earthquake and War Damage Act 1944 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Money payable out of Fund
(1)
Section 12(1) of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing paragraph (cc) (as inserted by section 2 of the Earthquake and War Damage Amendment Act 1967), and substituting the following paragraph:
“(ca)
Such sums, not exceeding $30,000 in any financial year, as the Commission may from time to time decide to grant to any body of persons engaged in research into earthquake engineering or geomechanical engineering:”.
(2)
The Earthquake and War Damage Amendment Act 1967 is hereby consequentially repealed.
This Act is administered by the Earthquake and War Damage Commission.
