An Act to amend the Gas Industry Act 1958

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Gas Industry Amendment Act 1979, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Gas Industry Act 1958 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Regulations

Section 21(2) of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after paragraph (e), the following paragraph:

“(ea)

Empowering the Gas Referees, after consultation with the Chief Inspector of Weights and Measures, to fix from time to time the fee or fees payable by the owners of gas undertakings and assemblers and repairers of gas meters in respect of the examination and testing of gas meters, and to specify the person or body to whom or to which the fees are payable:”.

This Act is administered in the Ministry of Energy.
