National Parks Act 1980

The Governor-General may from time to time, by Order in Council made on the recommendation of the Minister after consultation with the Authority and the appropriate Board, set apart any part of a park as a specially protected area for the purposes of this Act, and may, in like manner, cancel any such setting apart or alter the boundaries of any specially protected area by including or excluding any area of the park that, in his opinion, should be so included or excluded.

Where, at the commencement of this Act, any part of a national park is set apart as a special area this section shall apply as if that area had been set apart as a specially protected area under subsection (1).
