An Act to amend the Wheat Board Act 1965

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Wheat Board Amendment Act 1981, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Wheat Board Act 1965 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Contracts of Board and members

Section 17 of the principal Act is hereby amended by adding the following subsection:

“(5)

Where a member of the Board, who is appointed under section 4(d) of this Act or who is appointed under section 6 or section 7 of this Act in respect of a member of the Board appointed under section 4(d) of this Act, has, directly or indirectly, a pecuniary interest in any matter before the Board or a committee of the Board, section 6 of the Local Authorities (Members’ Interests) Act 1968 shall not prohibit the member from voting on or taking part in the discussion of that matter where the pecuniary interest is not different in kind from the interests of other persons in the activity, industry, or business in respect of which the member is appointed.”
