An Act to amend the Defence Act 1971
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Defence Amendment Act 1982, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Defence Act 1971 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Interpretation
Section 2(1) of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing paragraph (a) of the definition of the term “officer”
, and substituting the following paragraph:
“(a)
In relation to the Navy, a person (whether a man or a woman) who is of or above the rank of midshipman or is a chaplain in the Navy; and includes—”.
This Act is administered in the Ministry of Defence.
