An Act to amend the Finance Act 1930

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Film Hire Tax Amendment Act 1982, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Act heretofore cited as the Finance Act 1930 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Title and Short Title amended

(1)

The principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from the Title the words “public finance and other matters”, and substituting the words “the levying and collection of a tax on sound picture films”.

(2)

Section 1 of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting the word “Finance”, and substituting the words “Film Hire Tax”.

(3)

Parts I to IV, and VI of the principal Act are hereby repealed.

(4)

The First Schedule to the Inland Revenue Department Act 1974 is hereby consequentially amended by omitting the words “The Finance Act 1930: Part V”, and substituting the words “The Film Hire Tax Act 1930”.

This Act is administered in the Inland Revenue Department.
