An Act to amend the Accident Compensation Act 1982
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Accident Compensation Amendment Act 1983, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Accident Compensation Act 1982 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Seamen and airmen
Section 31 of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing subsection (4), and substituting the following subsection:
“(4)
Notwithstanding anything in Part V of this Act, no seaman or airman other than a New Zealand seaman or a New Zealand airman shall be entitled to be paid earnings related compensation in respect of work in paid employment as a seaman or airman outside New Zealand.”
3 Lump sum payments to surviving dependent spouses, children, and certain other dependants
Section 82(b) of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing the proviso.
This Act is administered in the Accident Compensation Corporation.
