This Act may be cited as the Queen Elizabeth the Second Arts Council of New Zealand Amendment Act 1983, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Queen Elizabeth the Second Arts Council of New Zealand Act 1974 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

Section 3(2) of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing paragraph (e), and substituting the following paragraph:

Section 7(11) of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting the words, “he may authorise another officer of the department”, and substituting the words “or the Director-General of Education, the Secretary or the Director-General, as the case may be, may authorise a senior officer of the department concerned”.
