An Act to amend the Shearers Act 1962

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Shearers Amendment Act 1983, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Shearers Act 1962 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Certificate of appointment as Inspector

Section 7(2) of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting the expression “$200” (as substituted by section 7 of the Decimal Currency Act 1964), and substituting the expression “$2,000”.

3 General penalty for offences

Section 16 of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting the expressions “$100” and “$4” (as substituted as aforesaid), and substituting, respectively, the expressions “$500” and “$20”.

This Act is administered in the Department of Labour.
