An Act to amend the Wages Protection Act 1983
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title and commencement
(1)
This Act may be cited as the Wages Protection Amendment Act 1985, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Wages Protection Act 1983 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
(2)
This Act shall come into force on the 1st day of July 1985.
2 Provisions in awards, determinations, etc.
The principal Act is hereby amended by repealing section 16, and substituting the following section:
“16
Subject to section 6(2) of this Act, nothing in this Act derogates from or makes it unlawful to comply with—
“(a)
Any provision of any award, determination, collective agreement, or like agreement; or
“(b)
Any provision of any order of any Court or tribunal.”
This Act is administered in the Department of Labour.
