An Act to amend the Earthquake and War Damage Act 1944

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Earthquake and War Damage Amendment Act 1985, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Earthquake and War Damage Act 1944 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Money payable out of Fund

(1)

Section 12(1) of the principal Act is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:

“(e)

Except as provided by subsection (2) of this section, all salaries and allowances and other expenditure incurred in the administration of this Act.”

(2)

Section 12 of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing subsection (2), and substituting the following subsection:

“(2)

The remuneration paid under section 4(6) of this Act shall be payable out of money in the Fund appropriated by Parliament for the purpose.”

This Act is administered in the Earthquake and War Damage Commission.
