An Act to amend the Vocational Training Council Act 1982

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Vocational Training Council Amendment Act 1985, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Vocational Training Council Act 1982 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 References to Minister of Employment in place of references to Minister of Labour

(1)

Section 2 of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing the definition of the term “Minister”, and substituting the following definition:

“‘Minister’ means the Minister of Employment:”.

(2)

The principal Act is hereby amended by omitting the words “Minister of Labour”, and substituting the words “Minister of Employment” in each of the following provisions:

(a)

Subsections (2) and (3) of section 4:

(b)

Subsections (1) and (4) of section 5:

(c)

Section 11(1)(h).

3 Establishment of Boards

Section 34 of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after subsection (3), the following subsection:

“(3a)

The Minister may from time to time vary or amend any such notice.”

This Act is administered in the Department of Labour.
