An Act to validate and confirm Orders in Council made under section 61h of the Social Security Act 1964

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Social Security (Rates of Benefits) Orders Confirmation Act 1985.

2 Order not validated in time by Act of Parliament confirmed

The Order in Council specified in the First Schedule to this Act is hereby validated and confirmed in respect of the period it purported to be in force notwithstanding that it was not validated and confirmed in respect of that period by an Act of Parliament passed during the session of Parliament that ended with the 14th day of June 1984, as required by section 61h of the Social Security Act 1964.

3 Other orders confirmed

As required by section 61h of the Social Security Act 1964—

(a)

The Orders in Council specified in the Second Schedule to this Act are hereby validated and confirmed in respect of the periods during which they were in force:

(b)

The Order in Council specified in the Third Schedule to this Act is hereby validated and confirmed.
