An Act to amend the Medical Research Council Act 1950

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Medical Research Council Amendment Act 1986, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Medical Research Council Act 1950 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Borrowing powers of Council

The principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after section 14, the following section:

“14a

The Council may from time to time, with the consent of the Minister and subject to such conditions (if any) as the Minister thinks fit to impose, borrow money and for that purpose issue securities or mortgage or charge any of its real or personal property.”

This Act is administered in the Department of Health.
