An Act to amend the Toxic Substances Act 1979
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Toxic Substances Amendment Act 1986, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Toxic Substances Act 1979 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Interpretation
Section 2(1) of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing paragraph (c) of the definition of the term “toxic substance”
, and substituting the following paragraph:
“(c)
Any tobacco prepared for smoking, snuffing, chewing, or any other oral use:”.
3 Information to be furnished concerning substances
Section 32(1) of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting the expression “subsection (7)”
, and substituting the expression “subsection (8)”
.
This Act is administered in the Department of Health.
