An Act to amend the Constitution Act 1986
BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Constitution Amendment Act 1987, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Constitution Act 1986 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Oath of allegiance to be taken by members of Parliament
Section 11 of the Constitution Act 1986 is hereby amended by adding, as subsection (2), the following subsection:
“(2)
The oath to be taken under this section shall be administered by the Governor-General or a person authorised by the Governor-General to administer that oath.”
This Act is administered in the Department of Justice.
