An Act to amend the Vocational Training Council Act 1982
BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:
1 Short Title and commencement
(1)
This Act may be cited as the Vocational Training Council Amendment Act 1988, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Vocational Training Council Act 1982 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
(2)
This Act shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1988.
2 Council to appoint certain officers and employees
Section 18 of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing subsection (6) (as substituted by section 9(2) of the Higher Salaries Commission Amendment Act (No. 2) 1985), and substituting the following subsection:
“(6)
The chief executive officer shall be paid—
“(a)
Such salary and principal allowances as are determined from time to time by the State Services Commission; and
“(b)
Such additional allowances, being travelling allowances or other incidental or minor allowances, as may be determined from time to time by the Minister of Finance.”
3 Repeal
The Higher Salaries Commission Amendment Act (No. 2) 1985 is hereby amended by repealing so much of the Second Schedule as relates to the Vocational Training Council Act 1982.
This Act is administered in the Department of Labour.
