An Act to amend the Auckland Harbour Bridge Authority Dissolution Act 1983

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:

1 Short Title and commencement

(1)

This Act may be cited as the Auckland Harbour Bridge Authority Dissolution Amendment Act 1988, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Auckland Harbour Bridge Authority Dissolution Act 1983 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

(2)

This Act shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1988.

2 Interpretation

Section 2 of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from the definition of the term “bridge’” the words “the Commissioner of Works”, and substituting the words “Works and Development Services Corporation (NZ) Limited”.

3 Vesting of assets and liabilities of Authority in Crown

Section 4 of the principal Act is hereby amended—

(a)

By omitting from subsection (2) the words “Ministry of Works and Development depot”, and substituting the words “harbour bridge works depot”:

(b)

By omitting from subsection (4) the words “Minister of Works and Development”, and substituting the words “Minister of Lands”.

4 Bridge declared motorway

Section 6(2) of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting the words “Minister of Works and Development”, and substituting the words “Minister of Lands”.

5 Regulations revoked

The Auckland Harbour Bridge Election Regulations 1954 are hereby revoked.

This Act is administered in the Ministry of Transport.
