(1)
The Governor-General may, by Order in Council, on the advice of the Minister, extend the period specified in an order under section 12 for a period not exceeding 12 months, and may in the same manner extend that period on successive occasions.
(2)
An extension may only be made before the end of the period to be extended.
(3)
An Order in Council under this section is secondary legislation (see Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019 for publication requirements).
