1 Short Title and commencement

• (1) This Act may be cited as the Broadcasting Amendment Act 1993, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Broadcasting Act 1989 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

  (2) Except as provided in subsection (3) of this section, this Act shall come into force on the day after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent.

  (3) Sections 3 to 5, 7, 8, 23, and 24 of this Act shall come into force on the 1st day of July 1993.

22 Transitional provisions

• Every action taken by the Authority before the commencement of this section which would have been valid if Part 6 of the principal Act (as amended by this Act) had been in force when that action was taken is declared to be and always to have been valid.

25 Transitional provision in relation to membership of Authority

• Every person who holds office as a member of the Authority under section 26(3)(b) or section 26(3)(c) of the principal Act immediately before the commencement of this section, shall be deemed to have been appointed as a member of the Authority under section 26(3)(b) of the principal Act (as substituted by section 6 of this Act).
