Note
This order is administered in the Ministry of Justice.
Pursuant to section 2 of the District Courts Amendment Act 2002, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.
1 Title

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order brings the District Courts Amendment Act 2002 into force on 24 November 2003. The District Courts Amendment Act 2002 replaces the provisions that govern appeals in civil cases from District Courts to the High Court. The main effect of the new provisions is that the detailed procedural requirements for appeals are no longer set out in the District Courts Act 1947, but are instead governed by the High Court Rules.
Issued under the authority of the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989.
Date of notification in Gazette: 23 October 2003.
