An Act to amend the Public Finance Act 1989

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Public Finance Amendment Act 1991, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Public Finance Act 1989 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Commencement of certain provisions deferred

Section 1 of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing subsections (2) and (3), and substituting the following subsections:

“(2)

Except as provided in this section, this Act shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of July 1989.

“(3)

Sections 9(6) and 32 of this Act shall come into force on the 1st day of July 1991.

“(3a)

Section 27(3) and Part V of this Act shall come into force on the 1st day of July 1992.”

3 Transitional provisions

(1)

Section 88(3) of the principal Act (as amended by section 2 of the Public Finance Amendment Act 1990) is hereby amended by omitting the words “the close of the 30th day of June 1991”, and substituting the words “the close of the 30th day of June 1992”.

(2)

The Public Finance Amendment Act 1990 is hereby consequentially repealed.
