PURSUANT to section 1(2) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.
1 Title
This order is the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act Commencement Order 2001.
2 Commencement of Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997
The Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997 comes into force on 2 July 2001.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order brings the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997 into force on 2 July 2001. The Act repeals the Stock Foods Act 1946, the Fertilisers Act 1960, Animal Remedies Act 1967, and Fertilisers Act 1982. The Act also provides powers for the prevention and management of risks to animal welfare, agricultural security, and trade in primary produce, associated with the use of agricultural compounds.
