1 Short Title and commencement

(1)

This Act may be cited as the Treaty of Waitangi (Fisheries Claims) Settlement Act 1992.

(2)

Except as provided in subsection (3), this Act shall come into force on a date to be appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council; and 1 or more Orders in Council may be made bringing different sections into force on different dates.

(3)

Section 8 shall come into force on the day on which this Act receives the Royal assent.

(4)

An order under this section is secondary legislation (see Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019 for publication requirements).

Section 1(4): inserted, on 28 October 2021, by section 3 of the Secondary Legislation Act 2021 (2021 No 7).
