Student Loan Scheme Amendment Act 1999: repealed, on 1 April 2012, pursuant to section 225 of the Student Loan Scheme Act 2011 (2011 No 62).

An Act to amend the Student Loan Scheme Act 1992

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Student Loan Scheme Amendment Act 1999, and is part of the Student Loan Scheme Act 1992 (“the principal Act”).

2 Payment of terminal repayment obligation

(1) This subsection substituted section 30(1) of the principal Act.

(2) Subsection (1) applies to terminal repayment obligations payable for the 1997-98 and subsequent income years.

3 Periods in which interest write-off and interest reduction apply

(1) This subsection amended Section 41(c) of the principal Act.

(2) Subsection (1) applies on and after 1 April 1999.

4 Excess repayments made by residents

(1) This subsection inserted Section 56(2B) of the principal Act.

(2) Section 5 of the Student Loan Scheme Amendment Act (No 2) 1998 is repealed.

(3) Subsection (1) applies to amounts paid in excess of borrowers' repayment obligations that arise on and after 1 April 2000.

(4) Subsection (2) applies on and after 7 October 1998.
