An Act to amend the Housing Act 1955

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:

1 Short Title

  • This Act may be cited as the Housing Amendment Act 1992, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Housing Act 1955 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Special provisions applying to rent payable under leases and tenancies of State housing land

  • (1) 

    (2) Where any proceedings have been commenced before the 21st day of July 1992, nothing in section 19A of the principal Act (as inserted by subsection (1) of this section) shall affect the rights of any person—

    • (a) Under any judgment, decision, or order of a Court or Tribunal given or made in those proceedings; or

    • (b) Under any judgment, decision, or order given or made on appeal therefrom, whether the appeal is commenced before or after that date.
