The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
1 Title
-
(1) This Act is the Electoral Amendment Act 2005.
(2) In this Act, the Electoral Act 1993 is called
“the principal Act”
.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
3 Election of list candidates

(1) Section 127(4) of the principal Act is amended by omitting the words
“a copy of”
.(2) Section 127 of the principal Act is amended by repealing subsection (5), and substituting the following subsection:

“(5) Every consent submitted under subsection (4)—
“(a) must be in a form provided by the Chief Electoral Officer; and
“(b) must be signed by the person concerned; and
“(c) may be submitted by hand, post, or facsimile transmission.”
