The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
1 Title
This Act is the Electoral Amendment Act 2013.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
3 Principal Act
This Act amends the Electoral Act 1993 (the principal Act).
4 Section 127A amended (Deposit by party secretary)

(1) In section 127A(1), replace
“lodge with”
with“pay to”
.(2) Replace section 127A(2) with:
-
“(2) The deposit must be paid by—
“(a) direct credit to a bank account nominated by the Electoral Commission; or
“(b) bank cheque; or
“(c) bank draft.”

5 Section 146F amended (Deposit payable in respect of bulk nomination schedule)

(1) In section 146F(1), replace
“lodge with”
with“pay to”
.(2) Replace section 146F(2) with:

“(2) The deposit must be paid in 1 lump sum by—
“(a) direct credit to a bank account nominated by the Electoral Commission; or
“(b) bank cheque; or
“(c) bank draft.”
