An Act to amend the Crimes Act 1961

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Crimes Amendment Act 1994, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Crimes Act 1961.

2 Sexual violation

Section 128 of the Crimes Act 1961 (as substituted by section 2 of the Crimes Amendment Act (No. 3) 1985) is hereby amended by omitting from subsection (2), and also from subsection (5)(a), the word “vagina”, and substituting in each case the word “genitalia”.

3 Amendment to Contraception, Sterilisation, and Abortion Act 1977

Section 5(1) of the Contraception, Sterilisation, and Abortion Act 1977 (as amended by section 7(3) of the Crimes Amendment Act (No. 3) 1985) is hereby amended by omitting the word “vagina”, and substituting the word “genitalia”.
