An Act to amend the New Zealand Trade Development Board Act 1988
BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the New Zealand Trade Development Board Amendment Act 1994, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the New Zealand Trade Development Board Act 1988 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Membership of Board
The principal Act is hereby amended by repealing section 6, and substituting the following section:
“6
The Board shall consist of—
“(a)
Not more than 8 members to be appointed by the Minister:
“(b)
The Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Trade:
“(c)
The Secretary of Commerce:
“(d)
The chief executive officer to the Board.”
3 Deputies of members
Clause 4 of the First Schedule to the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting in subclause (2), after the expression “section 6(b)”
, the expression “or section 6(c)”
.
4 Meetings of Board
Clause 5 of the First Schedule to the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing subclause (2), and substituting the following subclause:
“(2)
The quorum for a meeting of the Board is 5 members.”
5 Board to fix its own remuneration and travelling allowances
The First Schedule to the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing clause 12, and substituting the following clause:
“12
(1)
The members of the Board appointed under section 6(a) of this Act shall be paid such fees, salary, allowances, and travelling allowances and expenses as the Board may from time to time determine with the approval of the Minister.
“(2)
The members of the Board specified in section 6(b) to (d) of tins Act shall be paid such travelling allowances and expenses as the Board may from time to time determine with the approval of the Minister.”
This Act is administered in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
