1 Title

(1)

This Act is the Dog Control Amendment Act 2003.

(2)

In this Act, the Dog Control Act 1996 is called “the principal Act”.

2 Commencement

(1)

Section 32 comes into force on 1 June 2004.

(2)

Section 24 comes into force on 1 July 2006.

(3)

Section 23 comes into force on a date to be appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council, and 1 or more Orders in Council may be made appointing different dates for different provisions and for different purposes.

(4)

The rest of this Act comes into force on 1 December 2003.

Part 5 Other related amendments

47 Transitional provision

A territorial authority must, before 1 September 2004, review its policy on dogs to ensure that it complies with section 10(4) on and from that date.
