An Act to amend the Engineers Registration Act 1924
BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Engineers Registration Amendment Act 1996, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Engineers Registration Act 1924 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Remuneration of members of Board
Section 15a of the principal Act (as inserted by section 10(1) of the Fees and Travelling Allowances Act 1951) is hereby amended—
(a)
By omitting the words “and to each assessor appointed under section 12 of this Act”
:
(b)
By omitting the words “as if the assessors (as well as the members of the Board) were members of a statutory Board within the meaning of that Act”
.
3 Individual members of Board, etc., not personally liable
The principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after section 15a (as so inserted), the following section:
“15b
Neither the Board nor any member of the Board nor any officer or employee of the Board, shall be liable for any act done or default made by the Board or by any member, officer, or employee of the Board in good faith in pursuance or intended pursuance of the functions or powers of the Board.”
This Act is administered in the Ministry of Commerce.
