Private Investigators and Security Guards Amendment Act 2000: repealed, on 1 April 2011, pursuant to section 119 of the Private Security Personnel and Private Investigators Act 2010 (2010 No 115).

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
1 Title
(1)
This Act is the Private Investigators and Security Guards Amendment Act 2000.
(2)
In this Act, the Private Investigators and Security Guards Act 1974 is called “the principal Act”
.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
3 Renewal of licence
Section 33 of the principal Act is amended by repealing subsections (7) and (8), and substituting the following subsections:
(7)
The police may, before the expiry of 1 month after subsection (5) has been complied with, file with the Registrar a notice of objection to the application in the same way as if it were an application for a licence.
(8)
Any person other than a member of the police may, before the expiry of 1 month after subsection (5) has been complied with, file with the Registrar a notice of objection to the application, on the same grounds and in the same way as if it were an application for a licence.
